In Memory Of
Richard Lee Miller

Richard Lee Miller, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 23, 1955 to Betty Jane Maddox (nee Miller) and Wiley Lee Ross, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard was an inspiring artist and a devoted son. He had an infectious laugh and love for people and community. His family meant the world to him. He was a kind hearted and caring brother who loved his family unconditionally. Richard attended Cincinnati Public Schools and the former Bob Hope House for male youth.

He was an avid listener to all types of music. Some of his favorites were songs by Al Green and soul music that included songs from the 1980’s. His artistic talents were phenomenal in that he could draw still life sketches, and portraits. Richard enjoyed calling upon his siblings with various requests, mainly the infamous “mountain dew” soft drink, and taking him to the Everybody’s Records store to purchase music. Two of his greatest accomplishments were passing the test to obtain his driver's license and receiving his GED.

Richard struggled many years with a long term illness, we believe he is now in a better place. He no longer is suffering and we are thankful for the years God allowed him to be in our lives. Richard is survived by his beloved siblings, Jerome Miller, Alma E. Washington, Patricia (Julius) Jenkins, Bernita (Anthony) Hoskins,Joyce(Bruce) Taylor, Tammy (Will) Reynolds, Wiley Lee Ross, Jr., Daryl W. Ross,Kevin J. Ross, Shawn B. (Vioka) Ross, Pierre A. (Melissa) Ross, Tausha R. Ross; nieces, nephews & great nephew, and a host of other family members and friends.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace... at close of play

And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
I've savoured much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now. He set me free.
