William John Smith Sr.

William John Smith Sr., age 86, of Cheviot, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. He was born in Marmet, West Virginia on July 24, 1938 to Clayton E. and Victoria L. Smith (nee Spainhour).

He was preceded in death by his Father, Clayton E. Smith, Mother, Victoria L. Smith, Son, Clem Mitchell Smith, Sister, Patricia Smith, Sister, Nettie Smith, Sister, Margarite Smith, Sister, Cindy Smith, Brother, Fred Smith, Brother, David Smith, Brother, Clarence Smith. Bill is survived by his beloved Wife of 39 years, Carolyn Smith (nee Pierce); Son, William John Smith, Jr., Brother, Kenneth Smith, Sister, Kathy Smith; step son, John Stacey and step daughter, Joni Lynn Stacey; grandchildren, Mitchell, David, Haden, Clay, Austin, Tiara, Tasha, Eric Baker, Jessyca Stacey, Amanda Nicole (Nikki) (James) Tillman, and Sarah (Nick Thivener) Stacey; and our children of our hearts, Apyrl Strittholt, Sharon Miller and John and Stella Larkens; and families that touched Bill's life and made him a better person was his grandchildren from the Shirley's, the Murphy's, the Mazza's; the Wickert's; and a host of others that went through our lives. 

Bill loved Jesus more than anything; loved the people in his life and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Bill thanked God for his children and how they just fit. His nephew Ed Smith and niece Christine Smith were like blood children to him. Bill had the biggest giving heart, that if anybody needed anything that they had he always told Carolyn "we own nothing, God owns everything we have" and he would give. He had a sense of humor (ONE BRIGHT DAY) that everybody loved. We have been so blessed to have Bill Smith in our lives. Thank you, Jesus.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 7:00pm located at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45211. Visitation will be held Thursday June 26, 2025, at 6:00pm located at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest lane, Cincinnati, OH 45211. Food will be provided.
