William H. Dailey, 74, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Born on October 12, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, Bill was the beloved son of the late George William Dailey and the late Betty Lou (Claire) Kunkel, and the stepson of the late Paul Kunkel.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community servant. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Dailey; his brother, Robert Johnson of Wyandotte, Michigan; his children, Ann (Charles) Dickerson, Lynn Dailey, and John Dailey; his stepdaughter, Krista (William) Hubbard; and his stepsons, Scott and Stephen Strange. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Boston Dailey, Brooklynn Dailey, Kingston Dailey, Branson Dailey, Adalyn Dailey-Shackleford, Maylynne Dickerson, and Kylie Hubbard, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather.

Bill was a man of dedication, perseverance, and service. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He later demonstrated his strong work ethic by earning his Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Security from Northern Kentucky University after years of attending night school-an accomplishment he held with great pride.

In his youth, Bill was a 1969 football champion and participated in track and field at Green High School in Akron, Ohio, laying the foundation for a lifetime of teamwork and discipline. A committed community member, Bill was a lifetime member of the Erlanger Ralph Fulton VFW,where he held nearly every leadership position except commander, continuing a proud family tradition of service. He was also an active member of American Legion Post 4 in Florence and was honored as a Kentucky Colonel.

Bill dedicated much of his life to helping others. He played an instrumental role in establishing Special Olympics programs in Northern Kentucky and served as a coach for various youth sports teams, positively impacting countless young lives. He also served as a Fort Mitchell Reserve Police Officer and spent over 30 years working in hospital security, including serving as Security Director at Mercy Anderson, Dearborn County Hospital, and St. Elizabeth North.

Bill will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his profession. His legacy of service, strength, and love will live on in all who knew him.
