Virginia Anne Cody

Virginia Anne Cody, born on January 18, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, peacefully passed away on August 6, 2026, in Covington, Kentucky. Throughout her 83 years, Virginia touched the lives of many with steadfast compassion, unwavering dedication, and a remarkable capacity to give love and care to those around her.

From an early age, Virginia demonstrated the qualities that would define her life: empathy, patience, and deep kindness. These traits naturally led her to the profession of nursing, where she gave selflessly to others and found profound meaning in caring for those in need. She is survived by her loving children, Kurt Lundquist, Karen Lundquist and Kirsten (Rocky) Zdravecky. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Joshua Reeves, Julia Reeves, Nova Reeves, Samantha Lundquist and Hannah Lundquist, each of whom carries with them a piece of Virginia’s spirit, warmth, and wisdom. Virginia is also survived by her devoted sister-in-law, Sue Cody, who remained a close and supportive presence throughout her life.

Virginia’s life was also shaped by the enduring memories of those who preceded her in death. She mourned the loss of her parents, Chester Franklin Cody and Grace Ethel Cody; her sisters Marian (Jerry) Zagaros, Fern (Dom) Zdrazil, and Nancy (Robert) Miller; and her brother, Frank Cody. Though they are no longer with us, Virginia cherished her memories with them and carried their spirits in her heart.

Those who knew Virginia will recall her as someone who was well-loved by all and who found purpose and pleasure in caring for others. Whether through her work, her friendships, or her role within her family, she exemplified generosity of spirit and dignity. Her wisdom and gentle support left an indelible mark on each person fortunate enough to have called her friend, colleague, or family.
