Valerie was born on November 16, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Sykes and Mattie McGowan Chaney. She was the beloved wife of Earl Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sykes Chaney.
Valerie is survived by her husband, Earl; her mother, Mattie; 2 sons, Whitney Barnes and Benjamin Sykes Smith and one grandson.
Valerie will be missed by a host of family and friends.
