Tina Elizabeth Hehman, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 63 in Edgewood, Kentucky, her birthplace. Tina was a dedicated substitute teacher for many years and had a particularly rewarding experience teaching English as a Second Language in Guatemala. Her commitment to education was matched only by her devotion to her community, exemplified through her active role as a member of Walton First Baptist Church, where she cherished her work with children and participated earnestly in church activities.
Tina was not just an educator; she was a passionate choir member and led a ladies bible study at Haven Crossing. Her love for music and community service showcased her commitment to nurturing not only her own spiritual growth but that of others as well. Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed cross-stitching, solving puzzles, playing the piano, and traveling—particularly enjoying moments by the ocean.
Born on November 30, 1962, Tina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Northern Kentucky University, a testament to her dedication to knowledge and teaching. She was known for her warm and caring nature, often prioritizing the needs of others before her own. Her kindness resonated deeply within her congregation and with all those fortunate enough to know her.
A source of joy in her life was her cat, Isa, who brought comfort and companionship. Tina's fondness for McDonald's sweet tea often made her a familiar and cherished customer, known by name to the staff serving her favorite drink.
She is survived by her loving family, including her sons, Christopher (Shannon) Hehman and Duncan (Alaina) Hehman; her sisters, Rebecca (Eric) Timerding and Rachel (James) Osbourne; her nephews, Allan (Liz) Spivey and Nathan Timerding; her best friend, Joyce Byrd; and a host of other family members and friends who will remember her fondly for her generous heart and unwavering spirit.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel A. King and Zelma Joyce King (nee Poore), whose legacies of love and compassion clearly lived on through her. Tina Elizabeth Hehman will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10am - 11am followed by a memorial service at 11am and reception immediately following at First Baptist Church of Walton, 47 South Main St. Walton, Kentucky 41094.
