Thomas Frank Eltrup, a cherished member of the Florence, Kentucky community, passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on June 26, 1947, in Covington, Kentucky. Thomas led a life filled with passion and joy, leaving behind fond memories for his loved ones.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Eltrup (nee Keipert), his daughter: Sheree (Ron Griffis) Bubbly, and his grandchildren, Dayla (Adrian Kuhn) Dulaney, Cole Griffis and Ansley Griffis, as well as his great-grandchildren, Molly McKinley, Brogan Kuhn, Atlas Kuhn, and Rya Kuhn. He also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
Thomas had a zest for life that was evident in all he did. He had a keen love for golf and proudly celebrated achieving a hole in one, a testament to his dedication to the sport. On sunny days, one could often find him at Sunlite Pool, soaking up the warmth and joy of the outdoors. His appreciation for classical music was unparalleled; he found great pleasure in listening to movie scores, often preferring them over the films' dialogues.
His culinary tastes were refined, as he relished a good meal and enjoyed exploring flavors that transcended cultures, especially his love for German culture, which led him to visit Germany during his lifetime. Nature brought him peace, and he admired the black-eyed Susans that Janice lovingly grew in their backyard.
In addition to his earthly passions, Thomas shared a loyal companionship with his beloved dog, Roxie, who was a constant source of joy in his life.
Thomas's legacy is marked not only by the memories he created with his family but also by the warmth and kindness he extended to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Fritz (nee Sweitzer), stepfather, Pete Fritz, and father, Frank Eltrup.
