Theresa Gwen Godby

Theresa Gwen Godby, née Lovelace, passed away on October 4, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. She was born on December 24, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Theresa will be remembered as a simple, kind, and loving woman whose faith shaped her life. She was very faithful and loved attending church, where she found comfort and strength. She also enjoyed gardening, a quiet pleasure that reflected her gentle spirit. Theresa was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back, always ready to help others with warmth and generosity.

Family was an important part of Theresa’s life. She is survived by her daughter, Vanna (Richard) Hobbs; her grandchild, Mollie Hobbs; and her niece, Chastity (Jeff) Lovelace. May they carry forward the love, kindness, and faithful example that Theresa shared so freely throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Godby; her mother, Flora Lovelace, née Baker; her father, Brutus Lovelace; and her brother, Haskell Lovelace.

Theresa will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew her. Her life was a quiet testimony of kindness, faith, and love.
