Susan "Susie" Fultz, a loving wife, devoted mother, and dedicated friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Hebron, Kentucky, surrounded by her cherished family, after a courageous battle with Lynch Syndrome. Born on July 30, 1960, in Xenia, Ohio, Susie's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and fierce determination.

Susie built an ambitious career as the deputy regional director with the Cincinnati Regional Office of the Employee Benefits Security Administration. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her devotion to her family, which she always regarded as her proudest accomplishment. She was a hard worker, whose drive was not only evident in her career but also in the love and commitment she poured into every aspect of her life.

As a scout leader for her children, Susie shared her boundless energy and enthusiasm, guiding young minds with wisdom and compassion. She was also a devoted band and color guard parent, cheering on her children from the sidelines. She was always putting her children's interests first and ensuring their experiences were memorable, including numerous trips as a chaperone. Her nurturing nature extended beyond human connections; Susie's love for animals led her to house and care for countless cats, dogs, horses, and reptiles throughout her life.

Each year, Thanksgiving was a special occasion in Susie's home, where she hosted family gatherings that filled the air with warmth and laughter. Her culinary talents were on full display as she baked an array of cookies, lovingly distributing them to friends and family, creating sweet memories that are now cherished.

Susie is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Steven F. Fultz, who stood faithfully by her side through all of life's joys and challenges. She leaves behind her beloved daughter Christina Fultz and her son Alex Fultz, who carry forward her loving spirit. Her siblings, Bev (Les) Smith, Diana Marsden, and David (Melissa) Gilmore, along with her cherished nieces and nephews, including Dan (Julie) Smith, Tori (Nathan) Haskell, Tara (Josh) Gifford, Tisha (Brian) Chapman, and Kirk (Brandy) Lehman, will always hold dear the memories of their time with Susie. This legacy of love continues even through her great-nieces and great-nephews, Sean, Cole, Ben, Brett, Matt, and Emme, who have all been touched by her caring nature.

Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Betty Gilmore (nee Manuel), Susie's journey has come to a close, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Susie will be deeply missed, remembered not only for her strength and resilience but also for the immense love she spread to everyone who walked through her life. As we take a moment to celebrate her extraordinary life, let us hold her spirit close and honor her legacy through our actions and kindness to one another.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Boone County Animal Shelter or Colon Cancer Alliance for Research and Education for Lynch Syndrome.
