Steven Mandery Engle, Known to many as Steve and affectionately called "Duke," passed away on January 16, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 79. Steve lived his life on Cincinnati's Westside, a place he proudly called home. He was known for his kindness, his humor, and -above all- his deep love for his family. He had an easy way of making people feel comfortable, often bringing laughter into everyday moments and offering steady support to those around him.
Family meant everything to Steve. He was devoted to his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Engle, and took great pride in his children, daughter Kelleen Corsmeier and son, Christopher Engle. He was also blessed with a son-in-law, Richard Corsmeier, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Hoffman, and her husband, Dennis Hoffman, all of whom he loved dearly. He was a loving grandfather of Brittany (Matt) Slusher, Alexander Corsmeier, Zachary Corsmeier, Madison (Shadi) Musa, Tyler Chapman, Christopher M. Engle, Makiya West, Christina Engle, Armani Engle, Montana Engle, Geuel Jabari, and Jaymirr Engle, and great - grandfather to Jack, Maya, George, and Ray. He cherished spending time with them.
Steve enjoyed Civil War history, spending time in his backyard pool, watching all types of sports on television, and relaxing with Western movies and television shows. He especially loved vacations, creating lasting memories with his family.
Hew was preceded in death by his mother, Karyl Nicholls (nee Mandery); his father, Wilbur Archibald Engle; and his sister, Jane Engle.
Steve will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on through his family and all whose lives he touched.
There will be a visitation at Newcomer Cremations-Funerals-Receptions 3300 Parkcrest Lane Cincinnati, Ohio 45211 Wednesday January 28, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Memorial Park 11825 Pippin Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45231, on Thursday with a brief graveside at 2:00 PM.
