Stella Borgemenke

Stella M Borgemenke (nee Ames), age 84, of Cincinnati is the beloved wife of 67 years of Neal "Ben" Borgemenke. She was born in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk England, on April 5, 1941, one of ten children of Henry and Mary Ames.

She shared her many memories of growing up during the war as she lived near an American base. As a young girl her mom would take her to the pub to sing to the GI’s.

Stella loved to sew and worked as a Production Manager for many years. She had a few different hobbies but her favorite was planting flowers and gardening. Stella loved animals. She was known to take in and care for some of the neighborhood strays.

She met her husband Ben, in 1958. At the age of 17 she married him. They continued to live in England for 18 months. Then at the age of 19 she moved to the USA and has been here ever since. A year later they started their family.

Stella is the mother of Jeff (Nancy) Borgemenke, Michelle (Wally) Lauch, the late David and the late Daniel Borgemenke.

She is the grandmother of Justin (Mary) Borgemenke, Tracy (Nick) Oenbrink, Holly (Connor) Peace, Jake, Zach and Shannen Lauch, Scott, Danielle,and David Borgemenke. She also has 4 great grandchildren. Stella has many nieces and nephews.

Besides her sons, Stella was preceded in death by her siblings, Harry, Ernie, Alf, Frank, Dave, Doris, Lil, Shirley and Hilda.

Ben is from a big family also. Stella is the sister-in-law of Donna Prager, Linda Sundrhaus, Nancy Jump, Tom, Irv and Jerry Borgemenke, and the late Phyllis, Gene, Dale, Tim, Phil and Mike Borgemenke.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, (45211) from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St Joseph Old Cemetery.
