Sharon M. McCracken (nee Tomlinson) passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky, at the age of 72. Born on November 4, 1953, in Covington, Kentucky, Sharon carried with her throughout her life the values of warmth, kindness, and a selfless love for others.

A proud graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School in 1971, Sharon’s roots remained close to her heart. She spent her years nurturing cherished relationships and building a legacy centered around the family she treasured.

Sharon leaves behind her devoted spouse, Eddie Murphy, with whom she shared 19 remarkable years together. Her family was her greatest pride. She is survived by her daughter, Margarita McConnell; she was a proud Ma'am to, Rowan Arkenau, Jaden McConnell, Caleb McConnell, and Daniel McConnell; and her great-grandchildren Perseus McGraw, Odyseus McGraw, and De’Anna McConnell. Sharon’s brother, Randy Tomlinson, and his wife Laura Tomlinson, as well as her niece Stephanie Powell, also survive her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Margaret and John Tomlinson; her dear daughter De'Anna M. McCracken; her siblings Jewell Tomlinson and Dianna L. Naugle; and her great-grandchild Theo McGraw.

Those who knew Sharon will remember her for her wit, her knack for making everyone laugh, and her remarkable ability to make people feel comfortable and important. She was adored by all who crossed her path. Her generosity was legendary—she would give the shirt off her back without hesitation. In every action, Sharon radiated selflessness, putting loved ones before herself and drawing joy from the happiness of others.

Family was the light of Sharon’s life. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her reason for living—a source of endless pride and happiness for her. She enjoyed cheering on the Reds and Bengals, found comfort in the simple acts of cooking and ironing clothes, and looked forward to watching karaoke, filling her days with simple pleasures and warm memories.

Sharon M. McCracken’s legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4350 Dixie Hwy Erlanger, KY 41018.
