Ronald Vernon Sutherland, aged 93, peacefully passed away in his home in Union, Kentucky, on October 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 18, 1931, in Covington, Kentucky, Ronald exemplified a life marked by dedication, creativity, and love for those around him.
After attending Lloyd High School, where he actively participated in the marching band and swing band as a talented trumpet player, Ronald embarked on a career that would showcase his artistic skills. He began his professional journey as an engraver for Gibson Greeting Cards. In 1963, he established his own engraving business, RVS Engraving, working diligently from his home until 2008.
Ronald proudly served his country by joining the United States Air Force on February 24, 1951, spending most of his military career at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. His commitment to service extended beyond the military; he was a faithful deacon at the First Church of Christ, where he also taught Sunday School and ran a Home Bound service for many years. His dedication to his faith was evident in all he did.
Beyond his professional and spiritual contributions, Ronald had a great sense of humor and loved to engage with those around him. He was an active member of the Florence Community Band for several years and found joy in building models during his younger years. His enthusiasm for cars further displayed his creative spirit and passion for life.

(Spyridon) Sutherland Panagiotopoulos; grandchildren, Christine L. (Justin Michael) Stolzman, Patrick L. Marksberry, Nathan Sutherland, Eleni S.
