Roger Jacobsen

Roger Jacobsen, age 73, passed away on June 19, 2026, following an 8 year journey through the ravages of Alzheimer’s. Roger met his loving wife, Joan (nee Wolf), the first day of college at UW-Whitewater. Married 51 years, they were blessed with three loving children: the late Scott Jacobsen, Mark (Mary) Jacobsen of Holt, MI and Sandy (Tim) Kauffman of Harrison, OH. Roger’s pride and joy were his 5 amazing grandchildren who never ceased to impress him.

Residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 62 years, Roger worked as a master electrician for over 30 years, before moving to Cincinnati where the weather was more to his liking and to be closer to at least 3 grandchildren - boys who shared Roger’s love of sports. His 2 granddaughters were only 5 hours away, though, so many trips were made to Michigan to support them in their plays and swim competitions. Nothing was more important to Roger than his family, particularly his children and their spouses, Mary and Tim, whom he loved dearly and supported wholeheartedly.

Roger was preceded in death by his beloved son, Scott, parents Roy and Jeanette and sister, Karen. Roger is survived by his wife, Joan; children Mark (Mary) Jacobsen and Sandra (Tim) Kauffman; grandchildren Ali, Eli, Madie, Mason and Logan; brothers Randy (Jayne) and Russ (Barb), sisters-in-law Margie (Gary) and Mary (Brian), brother-in-law Andy (Jean).

We are especially grateful to the Monte Vista community that welcomed us 13 years ago. A special thank you to the staff and residents at Trustwell Living - Fairfield Place for their care and kindness this past year and a half, as well as Suncrest Hospice.

A visitation will be held on June 29, 2026 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:30 PM, located at Newcomer Funeral Home West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
