Richard Collins

Richard Collins, a dedicated family man and respected construction operator, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 88 in Florence, Kentucky. Born on April 20, 1937, in Isom, Kentucky, Richard spent over 30 years in the construction industry working with JE Harris, where his hard work and commitment were well recognized.

A simple man by nature, Richard was known for his steadfast work ethic and genuine personality. He left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him, inspiring respect and admiration from peers and family alike.

Richard is survived by his son, Kyle (Debbie) Collins, and his step-daughter, Jolena (Brent) Schadel. He was a proud grandfather to Caitlin (Josh) Skaggs, Sara (Dan) Brown, and Anna (Chase) Barker. Richard's legacy continues to thrive through his great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Brown, Dustin Brown, William Brown, Gracie Barker, and Colsen Barker. His sister, Opal Combs, and nephew, Nicky Combs, also cherish his memory, alongside a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Collins; mother, Leatha Collins (nee Adams); beloved wife, Ruth Collins (nee Back); and brothers Raymond Collins, Reese Collins, and Ralph Collins.

Visitation will be held on February 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. He will be laid to rest at Union Rice Cemetery next to Ruth.

Richard Collins leaves behind a rich legacy of love, dedication, and hard work, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
