Richard A. Cherry

Richard A. Cherry, 78, of Union, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Born on December 1, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the cherished son of Ralph and Iris Cherry.

He joins his sister Carol Y. Dicken and his parents in eternal rest. Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Lisa K. Cherry, his children Kayli M. Tanner (David), Kristin L. Cherry (Enrique), and Christopher S. Cherry, and his grandchildren Raelynn, Emery, Charlotte, and Madison Tanner, and Allen Cherry. He also leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends.

Richard spent his life enjoying time with his daughters and grandchildren, woodworking, and appreciating the outdoors through fishing, yard work, hiking, and camping. His love for music, cars, reading, and the Dallas Cowboys, as well as his deep affection for Texas, were well known.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 am, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Union Baptist Church, Union, KY. Please share remembrances and messages for Richard’s family in the guest book.
