Listen to Obituary

Michael "Coop" W. Cooper, 70, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on September 15, 2026.

Michael was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy was the time he spent with the people he loved. He never knew a stranger. Whether he was telling a joke, sharing a story, or giving someone a hug, Michael had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for.

A graduate of Holmes High School, Class of 1974, Michael went on to own and operate his own pest control company. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family.

Michael enjoyed the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, cooking, woodworking, he enjoyed his love of music and attending concerts, and taking long weekends to Tennessee or the lake. He had a deep appreciation for history and old paintings and enjoyed learning, remembering, and sharing the things that interested him.

Above all, Michael loved his family and cherished the time he had with them. He knew and shared his faith in God and what God meant to him. He was always a phone call away.

Michael is survived by his children, Cara Cooper, Amanda Cooper, Meagan (Stephen) Davis, and Amber (Nick) Cooper; his brother, Robert A. (Kelly) Cooper; his sister, Jana (Robert) Venable; his grandchildren, Meliah, Jadah, Mya, Caiden, Jarron, Chloe, Jaxson, Jameson, and Nastacia; and his great-grandchildren, Braylen and Romero. Four nieces and one nephew and many great nieces and nephews. He also shares many memories with countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. Cooper and Bonetia “Bonnie” Cooper; his sister, Vickie (Junior) Bell; and his beloved "furever companion", Aja.
