Melvin Andrew Cargill, born on July 26, 1964, in Waverly, Iowa, passed away on June 11, 2025, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Melvin's life was characterized by a kind-hearted spirit and a dedication to both his profession and family.

For many years, Melvin served with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), held across many locations, contributing to the safety of countless travelers. His commitment to his career was matched only by his deep love for his family and friends.

Melvin was a seasoned lover of music from various genres, enriching his life with melodies that brought him joy. He had a passion for trivia that sparked lively conversations and delightful gatherings. Additionally, he cherished the moments spent tinkering with computers, a hobby that engaged his curiosity and creativity. Perhaps most importantly, Melvin was devoted to his grandchildren, Saxon, Mia, and Atlas Mangrich, sharing with them his love and wisdom, which they will carry with them.

In his personal life, Melvin is remembered fondly by his mother, Glenda K. Cargill (nee Coverdell), his daughter Amber Nichole (Shane) Mangrich, and his brother Michael Cargill. He is also survived by his niece Lisamarie Cargill and nephew Michael L. Cargill, along with a host of other family members and friends who were enriched by his kind nature and warm presence.

Melvin is preceded in death by his father, Keith M. Cargill. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by those he touched throughout his life.
