Maureen K. Horvath

Maureen K. Horvath, age 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born on February 1, 1946, in Freemont, Ohio, to Thomas and Katherine Short (nee Huffman).

Maureen was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving daughter, Catherine Horvath, and her son, Alexander J. (Christine) Horvath, III. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jordan, Nathan, and Zoe Horvath, as well as her great-grandchildren, Adalynn Garcia, Evelyn Garcia, and Raelynn Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Penny (Eric) Gunderson, along with a host of other family members and friends.

Maureen had a passion for family and dedicated much of her life to creating cherished moments with her loved ones. She enjoyed interior design and had a successful long-term career in real estate before retiring from the IRS. Maureen had a love for playing Bridge and cooking Hungarian meals, lovingly sharing her culinary skills with those around her. Additionally, she was an avid reader, always pursuing new stories and ideas.
