Mark Kennedy

Mark Kennedy, age 67, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born in Covington, Kentucky, on June 9, 1958, he was the cherished son of John "Jack" and Mary Jean Kennedy (nee Botts).

Mark was an enthusiastic golfer, spending over 20 years enjoying Monday night rounds at Boone Links. His athleticism was evident in his years of playing softball, basketball, and bowling, with a talent for picking up any sport he tried. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and was known for his vibrant spirit and love for life. Mark was a family favorite, celebrated for his warm presence and engaging conversation.

Mark proudly served in the US Air Force. He retired after 35 years with Chas. Seligman Distributing, where he was well-regarded by colleagues and friends alike. For over 40 years, he hosted Thanksgiving gatherings, ensuring that family traditions would continue to thrive.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, John "Jack" Kennedy, his mother, Mary Jean Kennedy, and wife, Bonnie Kennedy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Kennedy; his children, Mark (Kelli Lawson) Kennedy, April (Eddie) Hutton, Josh (Jessica Monroe) Strange, and Ryan (Jaymee) Strange; and his cherished grandchildren, Ayden, Kegan, Reed, Avery, Brooks, and Asher. He is also survived by his siblings: David (Esmerelda) Kennedy, Connie (Rick) Williams, John (Kelli) Kennedy, Joan (Dan) Curtis, Jim (Dawn) Kennedy, and Alan Kennedy, along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who will remember him fondly.

Mark's family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Boone Links Golf and Event Center, 19 Clubhouse Drive, Florence, Kentucky 41042.
