Lorena Sue Thomas, formerly known as Smith, passed away on October 16, 2025, in Glencoe, Kentucky, at the age of 67. Born in Flower, West Virginia, on November 7, 1957, Lorena lived a life rich in love and generosity, leaving a profound impact on those who had the privilege to know her.

A dedicated mother and grandmother, Lorena is remembered for her caring and selfless nature. She raised not only her own children but also extended her nurturing spirit to the children of others, embodying a philosophy of community and kindness that was evident in her interactions with everyone she met. Never one to meet a stranger, Lorena was known for her loving demeanor and warmth, making everyone feel welcome in her presence.

Her family was undoubtedly her proudest accomplishment, and she took immense joy in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Lorena is survived by her daughters, Susan (Tommy Miller) Thomas, Belinda (the late Timothy) Breeden, Michelle (Todd) Stamper, her sons, Jason Thomas and James Thomas, and her beloved brother, Johnny (Linda) Smith. She also leaves behind a large legacy through her grandchildren: Jessica (Kyle Burt) Thomas, Chris Thomas, James Fry, Devon (Summer) Thomas, Jacob (Lauren) Stamper, Lorena (Robert) Prewitt, Betty (Tyler) Southworth, Gracie (Austin) Stamper, Tyler Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Jessie Thomas, Ashlea McQueen, Noah Miller, and Saber Miller, along with 11 great-grandchildren.

Lorena’s interests included watching her favorite shows, such as her beloved soaps, Dateline, and Reba, moments she cherished not just alone but often shared with her loved ones. Her generous spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by her family and a host of other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella Smith (nee Snyder) and William Smith, her husband Jess Thomas, and nine siblings. Lorena's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her and are grateful for the time they spent together.
