Linda Kay DeHart was born on June 2, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and entered eternal rest on the same date in 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with kindness, intelligence, and a deep love for her family.
Linda grew up in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, where she developed a passion for knowledge that would carry her through life. She graduated from Dixie Heights High School in 1974 and later earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business from Northern Kentucky University. Her career as an Accountant and Financial Analyst spanned several cities, including Cincinnati, Columbus, and Louisville.
Linda was a vibrant spirit whose curiosity knew no bounds. She had an affection for anthropology and history, especially indigenous communities. Her thirst for understanding kept her informed about current events, and she loved sharing these discussions with those around her. A lover of music, she played the guitar and the organ, enchanting her family with Christmas carols and lively performances at gatherings.
Her adventurous nature shone brightly through her love of travel. From family vacations to the Florida beach alongside her siblings to exploring historical sites, Linda found joy in every experience. Her affinity for the ocean remained steadfast throughout her life, with Jekyll Island, Georgia becoming a cherished destination.
Known for her generosity and warmth, Linda was a beloved sister, mother, and friend. She adored spending time with her son, Derek (Sara) DeHart and was a both a devoted sister to Jackie (the late Sam) Day and Rob (Allison) DeHart, as well as an affectionate aunt to her nieces, Clara DeHart, Kirsten (Steve) Bucino, Kaitlin Day, the late Jane DeHart, and nephew, Sam (Bethany) Day. The many gatherings that featured laughter, love, and shared meals were testament to her vibrant connection with family. Whether it was providing thoughtful gifts during the holidays or attending concerts that they enjoyed together, Linda embodied the essence of familial bonds.
Linda's adventurous spirit provided joyous moments for her family, especially her son. She was always supportive of his interests and hobbies, ensuring he had the best possible life and instilling within him a sense of wonder about the world. She spent time with her brother, Rob, enjoying cherished music, sharing unforgettable concerts from icons such as the Monkees to Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Her late parents, Jack DeHart and Christine DeHart (nee Thomas) instilled the values of love and kindness in her, traits that she carried into all her relationships. Linda’s legacy is one of unwavering love—a connection that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
Linda Kay DeHart will be warmly remembered and profoundly missed by her family and friends. A graveside service to celebrate her extraordinary life will be held on June 7, 2025, at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. All who loved her are invited to honor her memory as they remember a remarkable woman whose life was a tapestry of love, curiosity, and joy.
