Listen to Obituary

Leonard Stone, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. Born on March 27, 1950, in Elmore, Ohio, Leonard lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and warmth, leaving a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Leonard’s early years were shaped in Elmore, where the seeds of his strong work ethic and compassion for others were sown. From a young age, he nurtured close bonds with his siblings and developed a lifelong love of adventure—4 wheeling with his brothers, riding motorcycles, driving, and exploring new places. His enthusiasm for travel and the open road stayed with him throughout his life.

After serving his country as a proud Army veteran, Leonard built an admirable career as a contractor and builder. He took great pride in his craft, always striving for excellence in every project. Leonard’s skill and reliability earned him the respect of his peers and clients alike. Known for being good with numbers, he brought precision and care to all his endeavors.

Leonard’s journey in life took a profound turn when he answered a higher calling and became a pastor. As a spiritual leader, he touched the lives of many through his wisdom, guidance, and compassion. His faith was an anchor and inspiration to those around him, guiding his actions and leadership within his community.

Leonard’s greatest joys, however, were found in the company of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Stone (nee Justice); his children, Maria Bines, Liana Smith, and Ivan Stone; and his cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Rachelle, Michael, and Ethan. Leonard’s love extended to the next generation, as he delighted in spending time with his great-granddaughter, Olivia. His siblings—Gene, Edwin, Nora, and Leona—will remember Leonard for his loyalty, humor, and steadfast support.

He is also remembered by those who have gone before him: his father, Albert Stone; his mother, Juanita Stone Beddow (nee Conley); his sisters, Ella and Linda; and his brothers, Adrian and Clarence. Their memories live on in the shared stories and enduring spirit of family unity that Leonard carried forward.

Leonard’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication—to his faith, his work, his country, and above all, his family. He will be deeply missed, remembered fondly for his generosity, sense of adventure, and enduring kindness.
