Lawrence R. Averbeck, age 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on February 13, 2026. He was born in Cincinnati on October 8, 1932.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Mae "Sally" Averbeck, as well as his parents, Lawrence H. Averbeck and Loretta Averbeck. He is survived by his loving children: Marianne (John) Bosch, Laureen (Don) Ruberg, Lawrence V. (the late Greg Hastings) Averbeck, Lisa (Jim) Stull, James (the late Ed Porter) Averbeck, and Robert (Beth Reed) Averbeck. He cherished his role as a father and grandfather, leaving behind 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Larry graduated from Elder High School in 1950, where he lettered in football, baseball, and basketball. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Later in life, he excelled at tennis. A dedicated member of Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of Visitation Parishes, Larry served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. He was known for being a loving and devoted husband, a supportive father, and a fun-loving grandfather. Larry generously contributed to many people and organizations throughout his life and was a friend to all he encountered.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 5222 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45247, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elder High School, located at 3900 Vincent Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45205 or Grace Hospice, located at 2100 Sherman Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45212.
