Listen to Obituary

Larry Clevenger, known to those who knew him best as Steve, passed away on Sunday 4/19. He was born on January 11, 1951.

He was the loving husband of Vickie Clevenger, née Perry, and the cherished father of Kyle Clevenger and Courtney Schoch, née Clevenger. Beloved grandfather of Nathan and Natalie.

He was the twin brother of Bruce Clevenger, and he was preceeded in death by his brother Scott and sister Anne.

He retired from the US Post Office after 32 years of service.

Steve had a strong presence to those in his life. He told things like they were, but did so in a way that those he spoke to knew they were the better for it.

His intelligence was very deep. He had a love of language and words and spoke them in a witty way, often with a touch of humor or sarcasm. He had a love of drawing and a talent for caricature making; putting things into picture form capturing life in a way that he saw them with creative hidden details. An avid sports enthusiast, he could often be seen catching the stats of teams he was interested in.

Above all, Steve will be remembered for his originality. He did nothing in an ordinary way. Whether it was proposing to his wife through a scavenger hunt or expressing love in creative, unspoken ways, he made life more interesting and meaningful for those around him. His wit, humor, and outside-the-box thinking left a lasting impression that will not be forgotten.
