Lane Keith Mitchell

Lane Keith Mitchell, of Fruitland Park, Florida, passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 57. He was born on July 19, 1969, in Covington, Kentucky.

Lane will be remembered as a kind and compassionate man whose humility was evident in the way he lived his life. He found happiness in the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. He also had a strong interest in guns and cars, pursuits that reflected both his appreciation for skill and his enjoyment of the things that brought him peace and satisfaction.

Among the qualities that stood out most in Lane was his ability to care for others. He served as his father Bob’s caretaker, a role he carried out with devotion and compassion, and one for which Bob was deeply grateful. That care was one of Lane’s proudest accomplishments and spoke clearly to the depth of his character.

Lane is survived by his father, Robert Mitchell; his aunt and uncle, Debbie and Pete Mitchell; his cousins, Justin Mitchell and Jennifer Mauch; and his best friend, Jody Sarver. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Mitchell, née Martin, and by his brother, Marty Mitchell.

Those who knew Lane will remember a humble man who enjoyed simple pleasures, valued family, and gave of himself with quiet generosity. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 from 12pm - 2pm followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home 4350 Dixie Hwy Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. Burial will follow after at East Bend Cemetery in Rabbit Hash.
