Joyce McLaren Fehler, 66, of Dayton, Kentucky passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She was blanketed in the love of family, friends and the numerous lives she touched. Raising her family in Ft. Thomas, she will forever be a part of the lives of many. Her husband of 28 years, Donald. Her son and daughter Scott and Kelly. Daughters through marriage, Julie and Stephanie, as well as 6 grandchildren—who supplanted everyone else as her favorite people.
Joyce valued deep connections above all else, formed over long lunches and simple trips with friends and family. She made others feel heard and cared about. Joyce faced down cancer three times over 26 years but never missed a thing. Her children’s sporting events, dance recitals and doing it all again with her grandchildren. She showed everyone how to take the very most from each day.
She loved music, theatre and Disney movies. She found peace in the sounds of water, but not the sand. She found her happiness in giving—whether a gift for a special occasion or one of her breads at Christmas—creating joy for others was her greatest joy.
In honor of her love of giving and in lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in her name to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society, both organizations that Joyce and Don have supported for many years.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 28th at Alexandria Community Church. A reception will begin at 2pm with a memorial service at 3pm. Food and friendship will follow the memorial service in the church’s fellowship hall.
