Joseph Calton Landry passed away on October 3, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. He was born on February 7, 1961, in Lafayette, Louisiana, a place that helped shape the Cajun roots he carried with him throughout his life.
Joseph built his life around the world of horses, working as a horse trainer and making horse racing a central part of his life. He was adventurous by nature and brought that spirit into the way he lived each day. He was always joking and loved to make everyone smile, leaving behind memories of laughter and warmth for those who knew him.
He also found joy in sharing his Cajun heritage through his cooking, offering others a taste of where he came from and the traditions he cherished. In quieter moments, he liked watching old western movies, another simple pleasure that brought him enjoyment.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Chentel (James Rice) Landry and Brianna Landry; his brothers, Felton Landry and David Landry; and his sister, Theresa Glaude. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Aviana McClendon, E'Laiya McClendon, Zayne Rice, and Rilah Rice, who were a treasured part of his family circle. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and by those whose lives were brightened by his humor, his generous spirit, and the pride he took in sharing his heritage.
He was preceded in death by his father, Felton Landry, his mother, Joyce Landry; his brother, Carlton Landry; and Marilyn Landry.
