Joseph Eugene Doogan, age 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at his home surrounded in love. Born on December 28, 1946, in Cincinnati to James and Loretta Doogan (nee Kamphaus), Joseph lived a life marked by devotion to family and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Loretta Doogan, his brother James Doogan, and sister Julie Neyer. Joseph is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Kathy Sue Doogan (nee Corso), the only woman he ever loved. Together, they shared a marriage filled with love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment.
Joseph was a proud and loving father to his three children: daughter Michelle (Scott) Menner, son James (Sarah) Doogan, and son Joseph (Lisa) Doogan. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to Shayne, Hailey, Hannah, Olivia, Max, Cale, Belle, Quinn, and Lane. A caring brother to his sister, Joyce Weinewuth, and his beloved sister-in-law, Carol Daniel. Joseph will be greatly missed by numerous family members and friends who held him dear.
Joseph dedicated 35 years of faithful service to Andrew Jergens before retiring. In retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his wife, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. A man of few words, Joseph’s greatest pride was in the family he nurtured and left behind.
In loving memory of Joseph, contributions may be made to the SPCA, Veteran Association, or Hospice of Cincinnati.
A Mass to celebrate Joseph’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Our Lady of Victory. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
