John S. Pope

John S. Pope, age 54, of Southgate, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026. He was born on March 19, 1971, in Smithtown, New York, to Robert E. and Barbara Goode (nee Belanger).

John is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Goode; his stepmother, Peggy S. Pope;his mother-in-law, Paula A. Elam; and his father-in-law, Udorise Saylor his brother-in-law, Robert U. Saylor. 

He is survived by his devoted wife almost 20 years, Melissa J. Pope (nee Saylor); his father, Robert E. Pope; father-in-law, Keith A. Elam his daughter, Kristen L. (Jeremiah) Webster; his son, Robert S. Pope; and his brothers, Brian (Karen), Robert (Selene), Chris (Pam), Alan (Mandie), and Sean Pope. John is also survived by his nieces, Karla, Sarah (Devon), Sammie, and Alicia Novachich; his nephews, Patrick Novachich, Robert Novachich, and Brandon J. Windisch; his sister-in-law, Thelma R. (Patrick) Novachich; beloved great nieces and nephews, Athena, Brenda, Grayson, Samson, and Melodie, and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, and UK Basketball, John cherished the time spent with his family, which was always his favorite place to be. He also enjoyed 80's music, playing music trivia, and attending concerts over the years. His most treasured thing to do was be with his kids.
