John "Butch" Robert Miskell, a cherished family man and respected member of his community, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Corinth, Kentucky. Born on July 9, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, John lived a life marked by kindness, selflessness, and an unwavering willingness to assist anyone in need. His lifelong career as a truck driver earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends alike, who admired his dedication to his work and his unwavering commitment to family.
Butch was known for his warm personality and his love for his family, especially his grandchildren who were a significant part of his life. He proudly enjoyed spending time with them, nurturing their bonds and creating lasting memories. Alongside his grandchildren, whom he adored, he also had a deep connection with his beloved wife of 57 years, Sharon Miskell (nee Whitehead), with whom he shared a beautiful life together. Their love story began in childhood, and together they forged a family and built their dream home, a log cabin that stood as a testament to their shared dreams and aspirations.
In addition to his roles as a devoted husband and grandfather, Butch found joy in simpler pleasures. He cherished moments spent fishing, tending to his yard, enjoying nature, and feeding the wild deer that visited his property. These activities reflected his gentle spirit and his love for the outdoors.
Butch is survived by his son, Joe (Christina) Miskell; daughter, Tonya Baughman; grandchildren, Joseph Miskell, Johnathen Miskell, Cody (Indigo) Miskell, Cheyenne Baughman, and Cierra Baughman; brother, Kenny (Javier Cuenca) Miskell; sisters, Carol Miskell, and Loretta (Bill) Sands, along with a host of other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He is also preceded in death by his father, John Miskell; mother, Emily Miskell (nee Crusoe); son, John Robert Miskell; sister, Julie Hampton; and brothers, Mike Miskell and Fred Miskell.
