JoAnn Wessendarp, (nee Schulte), age 86, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 7, 1940 to Cyril and Lillian Schulte (nee Pennekamp).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, her grandson Adam Haehnle, and her siblings, Marian Schulte, Rosemary Schulte and Cyril Schulte.

JoAnn is survived by her children; Rebecca (Matthew) Haehnle, Matthew Wessendarp, Jeffrey Wessendarp, Sarah Morano and Nick (Megan)Wessendarp. JoAnn is the grandmother of Brendan (Lindsey), Chase, Anastasia, Lucy, Gianni, Eva, Alan, Elaine and Aidan. JoAnn is the great grandmother of Gino, Rory and Emery

JoAnn is the sister of Carolyn Schulte, Dorothy (Paul) Klatte and Daniel (Joan) Schulte. She is the aunt of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A West Price Hill native, a Mercy High School and Mt St Joe graduate who then became a teacher in the catholic schools. With the birth of her first child, she gave up teaching to be a Mom. After the kids were all in school, she went back to teaching - Drivers Ed. With her close friends, she enjoyed monthly card clubs, traveling, shopping, and summertime at Philipps Swim Club. She also enjoyed reading, baking and word search games. Before Zillow and other websites, she attended open houses, for no real reason at all, but to see how the others were living. She enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, great grandkids, also including Scott, Delilah, Kayden and Naomi Raters.

For the past 20 years, her strong will and resilience carried her through multiple health issues. This time the lung cancer was too much. The cancer took her body, but her spirit remained strong until the end.  Always, the best Mom ever!

Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Drive, Cincinnati (45211) from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in New St Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, in loving memory of JoAnn, contributions may be made to Adam Haehnle Memorial Scholarship Fund at Oak Hills High School, 3200 Ebenezer Road, Cincinnati (45248), ATTN: Courtney Ruther. Make check payable to Oak Hills High School.
