Jeffrey Allen Foran passed away peacefully on December 20th from a very rare brain disease called Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease. Born on June 17, 1957, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Paul and Gleta Foran (nee Whitehead). He was just 68 years old. He declined rapidly and never complained.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Foran, as well as his father, Paul Foran; mother, Gleta Foran; and his son, Marty Foran. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of three years, Sharon Foran (nee Reaves); his sons, Allen W. Foran and James R. Foran; and his grandchildren, Malachi and Ezekiel Foran. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Frank) Blevins, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
As a child, he loved being a boy scout and attending mass. In 1976, he went on to play football for UK. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 1999. He had an illustrious career, first as a jet engine mechanic and later, he taught classes on how to disassemble and reassemble jet engines, creating blueprints and detailed instructions, among many other military responsibilities. He earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, with many ribbons, pins and awards. He proudly served in Operation Desert Storm, with Combat Logistics Support Squadron.
He loved serving his country. Two of his many tours, he was stationed in Alaska and enjoyed hunting, fishing and building igloos with his children. He retired in 1999 and returned to Cincinnati, where he and his first wife Charlotte, became very active in the church, until her death in 2020.
Shari and Jeff met on catholicmatch.com (thanks to Kimberly) and were married in 2022. They were only together for about 4 years, but had fun playing backgammon, going to Cumberland Falls, cooking out, going to Reds games, planting his tomato garden, singing the golden oldies together and playing softball for Visitation Catholic Church.
He was Papaw Jeff to Shari's grandchildren Chase and Kimberly Erb. And her great granddaughter, little Dani Blake.
Visitation and a funeral blessing service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations-Funerals-Receptions 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati OH 45211. Visitation will be starting at 11am until the Catholic Funeral Blessing starting at 12 noon. A graveside service will follow with military honors at New St. Joseph Cemetery 4500 Foley Rd. Cincinnati OH 45248.
Flowers are welcome. Donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, who provided excellent care and support during this difficult year.
