Jay R Chafin, age 44, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on November 20, 1981, to Donald Leo Kittle and Linda DeLano (nee Evans).
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Donald Leo Kittle; grandmother, Jean Evans; grandfather, John Evans; brother, Scotty Chafin; and mother-in-law, Marybeth Noes. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Chafin (nee Noes); mother, Linda DeLano; step-father, Douglas DeLano; daughter, Haylie Chafin; son, Logan Chafin; brothers Joseph (Lisa) Chafin and Don Whitmore; two nieces; one nephew; one great-niece; one great-nephew; father-in-law, Robert Noes; as well as many aunts, uncles, and a host of other family members and friends.
Jay cherished life and was a devoted father who found joy in fishing, playing with his children, and spending time with family. A passionate fan of the Steelers, he was known for his love of family gatherings and his generous spirit, often helping others without expecting anything in return. He also enjoyed contributing to his church community.
In loving memory of Jay, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rolling Hills Baptist Church, 5742 Pleasant Avenue, Fairfield, Ohio 45014. Following the ceremony, a graveside service will take place at Landmark Memorial Gardens, 1600 Glendale Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
