Janice Marion Messer, a cherished mother, artist, and longtime public servant, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Lakeside Park, Kentucky. She was born on August 18, 1936, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Edward and Gertrude Steinborn (née Gilmartin).
Janice devoted over thirty years of her professional life as a driving examiner with the Kentucky State Police, where she made a significant impact on her community through her dedication and commitment to public safety. Her career was marked by a strong sense of responsibility and respect for the individuals she served.
Beyond her professional achievements, Janice was known for her deep love for animals, particularly cats, which brought her immense joy throughout her life. She was an avid artist and found great fulfillment in painting portraits, a testament to her creative spirit and passion for the arts.
Janice was a devoted, life-long parishioner at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Cincinnati.
Janice is survived by her loving son, Timothy Messer, and her former daughter-in-law, Elena Messer. She also leaves behind her dear cousin, Mary Luebbers, along with a host of other family members and friends who will remember her for her warmth and kindness.
The legacy of Janice Marion Messer will continue to inspire those who knew her, and she will be truly missed.
