Janice Ann Armstrong (Jones), 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in the city where she was born and spent her entire life.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Janice will be remembered for her radiant smile, steadfast loyalty to her family, and her deep appreciation for life's quieter moments.
Born on October 14, 1948, to Elmer and Phyllis Jones, Janice grew up in Cincinnati alongside her sisters Joyce Harvey, JoAnne Hodge, Jeana Hon, and Jerrilyn Jones. A proud Mercy High School graduate, her education and hard work led her to a 45-year career as a histotechnologist. Her dedication and precision in her work were reflections of her character — dependable, honest, and hard-working.
In a beautiful love story that spanned over half a century, Janice married her soulmate, Jeff Armstrong, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of their 56-year journey together. Their partnership was characterized by mutual respect, unwavering support, and a deep affection that never faded. Janice was a devoted and caring wife, always advocating for her beloved husband and ensuring their family thrived.
As a mother, Janice was a source of strength for her two sons, Jon and Jesse. She actively participated in their lives, serving as a den mother in the Cub Scouts and supporting them in any adversity they might face. Her support extended beyond her immediate family, as she was also a loving mother-in-law to her lovely daughters Tracy and Nancy Armstrong and a nurturing grandmother to her three grandchildren: Royce, Jonathan, and Roland. Janice shared her love for the arts with them, introducing them to the theater and instilling a passion for creativity and expression.
Janice will always be remembered for her unwavering love she had for her family, and her steadfastness and tenacity that she had for life. She was an advocate for her sons when they needed it most, demonstrating her fierce love and commitment to her family. Even in difficult times, she maintained an unwavering spirit, inspiring those around her with her resilience and grace.
Janice’s life will be celebrated on October 29, 2025, with a visitation at 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, at the Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor a woman who brought joy, compassion, and love into the lives of so many.
