J. Michael Sullivan, a dedicated postal service professional and passionate cyclist, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Erlanger, Kentucky. Born on October 4, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky, Michael's life was marked by steady commitment, a warm sense of humor.

Michael devoted an impressive 41 years to the United States Postal Service. Beginning his career as a letter carrier, he was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) for 20 years before advancing into management roles. His unwavering work ethic and leadership were hallmarks of his career.

Outside of his professional life, Michael was an avid bicyclist, generously sharing his enthusiasm for the sport as a member of the Cincinnati Cycle Club. For a decade, he participated in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI), exemplifying his love for riding and physical endurance. At one point, he bicycled approximately 5,000 miles a year—a testament to his passion and determination. Yet, amidst these achievements, Michael’s proudest accomplishments remained his beloved family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Sullivan (nee Fangman), whose partnership was a source of deep strength and happiness throughout his life. Michael leaves behind his sister Kathleen Seifert and brother Pat (Judy) Sullivan, along with his children: Timothy Joseph Sullivan (and wife Erica), Kevin Michael Sullivan (and wife Michelle), and Angela Noel Schlueter (and husband Eric). His legacy continues with his cherished grandchildren—Austin, Kiley, Carson, Max, Jackson, Alexis, Owen, and Wyatt—who brought great joy to his later years. Michael also counts numerous other family members and friends among those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Sullivan and Alma Mae Sullivan (nee Childers), and his brother-in-law, Jack Seifert, whose memory he honored throughout his life.

Michael’s visitation will be held on March 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018.
