Gary Michael Elmore, born on December 31, 1955, in Covington, Kentucky, departed from this life on December 16, 2025, in Florence, Kentucky. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many.

Gary was a proud graduate of Boone County High School, class of 1973, where he made his mark as a member of the football team, donning the number 70 with pride. After high school, he bravely served in the Army from 1973 to 1977 during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his commitment to his country.

Throughout his life, Gary was known for his unwavering faith and being a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He held strong spiritual beliefs and was a respected member of the community, actively participating as a Mason at Burlington Lodge 264 where he held numerous positions.

Gary cherished his time spent in the great outdoors, where he nurtured his passions for fishing, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He shared his love for fishing with his sons and grandson, creating lasting memories that will live on in their hearts. His enthusiasm for these activities was paralleled only by his love for travel, especially to Maui with his wife, Shonda, a journey they undertook together in pursuit of adventure and connection.

Family was at the center of Gary's world. His pride and joy were evident in every moment spent with his wife of 51 years, Shonda Ann Elmore (nee DeMoss), and their two sons, Bradley Michael (Rachelle) Elmore and Justin Matthew Elmore. He also reveled in his role as a grandfather, finding immense joy in the lives of Cody Michael Elmore, Layna Paige Thomas, and Lydia Ann Elmore. The bond he shared with his family was beautifully woven into the fabric of his existence, as he embraced moments at family functions and relished in the love and laughter that surrounded them.

Gary's legacy will also be remembered through his siblings, brother Robert Thomas Elmore, and brother Edgar Roy (Shiela) Elmore, as well as his sister-in-laws Andrea Lea (Robert) Wartmann and Lisa Alyson Conrad, and brother-in-law Troy Howard (Brenda) DeMoss. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Thomas Elmore; mother, Margarette Catherine Elmore (nee Frakes); brother, Ronald Lee Elmore; and sisters-in-law Steffi Lynn DeMoss and Amy Alyssa DeMoss.

A visitation to honor Gary's life will be held on December 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018.
