He continued his study and spiritual journey under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Culbreath,-New Beginning, and under Rabbi Wolfe at Beth Messiah.

He leaves to carry on his legacy: his wife of 24 blissful years, Kathryn L Burns Sanders, his children; Shandrika (Tony), Dania, Delisa, Delaina, James (Tiffany) and Rodney, his grandchildren: Sergio, Dominique, James, Maliyah, D'arren, Donte, Dere'ontae and great grandchildren: Kayden Bell Great, Esa, and Had, his siblings: Rose (Joe), Betty Jean, Tommy (Carlyn), Leroy, all of Cincinnati , and his adopted sibling, Randall (Janice) Sowell of Clarksville,Tennessee, along with a host of family and friends.

On April 29, 2026 after a brief illness he departed this earthly life to join The Lord while in his home next to his wife.Freddie James will be missed BUT NEVER forgotten as he has left his indelible mark on the hearts of all those who knew him.
