Frances Lee Hunnicutt

Frances Lee Hunnicutt, formerly Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on January 5, 1933, in Lenarue, Kentucky, Frances was a cherished member of her community whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Frances dedicated 37 years of her life to her career as a cashier at Kroger, where she became not only a reliable employee but also an active union steward, advocating for the rights and well-being of her fellow workers. Her strong work ethic and dedication were hallmarks of her character, qualities that resonated deeply with her family and friends.

Among her many passions, Frances held a deep love for her family, which remained central to her life. She took immense pride in her sons, John (Linda) Smith and David (Patricia) Smith, and was a doting grandmother to her grandson Jon (Cindy) Smith, as well as her great-granddaughters, Makenzie and Harper Smith. Frances's happiness radiated through her family gatherings, where her love for flowers and plants, along with her talent for crocheting, often came to life. As a devoted member of Greenview Baptist Church before its closure, she found joy in her faith and community, building lasting relationships that enriched her life.

Frances is preceded in death by her father, Frank Sargent, her mother, Tennessee Orick, and her husbands, John P. Smith and Eugene Hunnicutt. While they are departed from this world, their memories remain cherished by those who knew them.

Visitation will be held on July 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY, followed by a funeral service. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, located at 3227 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY immediately following.
