Floyd W. House, Jr., a beloved figure in the Covington community, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 79 in Erlanger, Kentucky, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on October 12, 1945, in Covington, Kentucky, Floyd dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving others.
For 30 years, he was a devoted custodian at the Covington Board of Education, where he made a lasting impact on all whom he interacted. He was known for his warmth and dedication—truly embodying the spirit of a nice guy and a loving father.
Floyd is survived by his son, Donald House; his daughter, Angela House; and his grandchildren, Alex Asselin and Anthony Asselin. He leaves behind a cherished legacy, along with a host of other family members and friends who will fondly remember him.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Floyd W. House, Sr.; his mother, Mary Cain; and his beloved wife of 39 years, Ethel Marie House (nee Schnitzler). Together, they created a loving home and fostered deep connections that will endure in the hearts of all who knew them.
