Ezra Jay Hall Jr., age 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1931, in Science Hill, Kentucky, to William Ezra and Bratchie Hall (née Baker).
Ezra was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ima Jean Hall (née Poe), and was also reunited with his parents, William Ezra and Bratchie Hall, as well as his siblings: Ewell, Mabel, Paul, James Ralph, Herschel, Jane, Evelyn, and Lois. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son James (Debra) Hall, daughter Janice (Mark) Haller, and son Jeffry (Barbara) Hall. Ezra cherished his grandchildren: Nathan, Jordan, Tom, Katie, Ben, and great-grandchildren Sam, Katelyn, Norah, Emmit, Claire, and Wyatt, along with a host of other family members and friends.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ and lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Ezra played an active role in his church community, serving as Song Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, and Trustee. His unwavering dedication extended to everything that was needed at the church.
Ezra had a passion for collecting, enjoying items such as coins, American pottery, and glassware. He was a longtime business owner in Northside. He especially valued family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas, creating cherished memories with his loved ones.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict stationed in Alaska and was married to Ima Jean for 53 wonderful years.
Visitation will be held at Montana Avenue Church of the Nazarene, 2559 Montana Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211, on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
