Elizabeth Ann Griffin

Elizabeth Ann Griffin, née Wilson, of Crittenden, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky, at the age of 76. She was born on June 17, 1950, in Mary Alice, Kentucky.

Elizabeth will be remembered as a loving and fierce matriarch whose strength shaped the lives of those around her. Strong-willed, patient, kind, and caring, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her proudest accomplishment was the family she loved so deeply, and her legacy of unconditional, sacrificial love and devotion will live on through generations in her children and grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth faced many health challenges with remarkable strength and perseverance. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her great-grandchildren, both near and far. She also loved roses, horses, and the dreamcatchers and mandalas made by her sister. Her entire family loved and adored her beyond words.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Everett Griffin; her children, Cynthia (Perry) Moore, Victoria (Phillip) Meredith, and Michael (Kimberly) Mitchell; her sisters, Linda (the late Weasel) Smither and Wanda Adkinson; and her brother, Robert Wilson.

Elizabeth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Danielle, PJ, Kari, William, Amber, Makayla, Arthur, CJ, Brittany, and Candice. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Hopie, Charlie, Jacob, Lilly, Aidan, Starsha, Justen, Dariyon, Jaxsun, Declan, and JJ, who is due any day, as well as Zoey and Skylar, her honorary grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her life.

She is further survived by her brothers-in-law, Johnny (Kathleen) Griffin, Andy Griffin, and Donald Griffin, and her sister-in-law, Helen Griffin.

All who knew Elizabeth were touched by her devotion, her strength, and the fierce love she carried for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Wilson, and her mother, Gertie Wilson, née Bowlin.

Visitation will be held on September 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, 4350 Dixie Hwy., Erlanger, KY 41018. Burial will take place on September 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, KY 41097.

Elizabeth Ann Griffin will be remembered with deep love and gratitude. Her strength, her care for others, and her unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
