Elizabeth Ann Griffin

Elizabeth Ann Griffin, née Wilson, of Crittenden, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky, at the age of 76. She was born on June 17, 1950, in Mary Alice, Kentucky.

Elizabeth will be remembered as a loving and fierce matriarch whose strength shaped the lives of those around her. Strong-willed, patient, kind, caring, and devoted, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave her heart fully to her family. Her entire world revolved around them, and her proudest accomplishment was the family she loved so deeply. She was married to her beloved husband, Everett Griffin, for 49 years, and throughout her life she remained dedicated to her family in every way. She also overcame many health issues with remarkable strength and perseverance. Among the simple things that brought her joy were roses, which she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Griffin; her children, Cynthia (Perry) Moore, and Victoria (Phillip) Meredith and Michael (Kimberly) Mitchell. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda (the late Weasel) Smither and Wanda Adkinson; and by her brother, Robert Wilson.

Elizabeth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Danielle, PJ, Kari, William, Amber, Makayla, Arthur, CJ, Brittany, and Candice, as well as Zoey, her honorary grandchild, who held a special place in her life. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Hopie, Charlie, Jacob, Lilly, Aidan, Starsha, Dariyon, Justen, Jaxsun, Declan, and JJ who is due any day. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law, Johnny (Kathleen) Griffin, Andy Griffin, and Donald Griffin, and by her sister-in-law, Helen Griffin. All who knew Elizabeth were touched by her devotion, her strength, and the fierce love she carried for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Wilson, and her mother, Gertie Wilson, née Bowlin.

Visitation will be held on September 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. Burial will take place on September 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, KY 41097.

Elizabeth Ann Griffin will be remembered with deep love and gratitude. Her strength, her care for others, and her unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
