Edward Franklin Bates

Edward Franklin Bates, age 72, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026. Born in Seneca, South Carolina, on September 13, 1954, he was the cherished son of Idabeth McCloud.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Idabeth McCloud, and his son, Brian Bates. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 19 years, Rhonda Bates, and his children: Wendy (Josh) Dugger, Kevin Reynolds, Kimmie (Tye) Bivens, Jessica (Brad) Moorman, and Kristen (Clayton) Reynolds. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Donna McCloud, 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many friends and extended family members.

Edward cherished spending time fishing with his grandchildren, attending their sports activities, and was an avid fan of NASCAR and football.

Funeral Ceremony will be 12:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2026 with a visitation from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
