Listen to Obituary

Donna Jean Wood, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 68 in Blue Ash, Ohio. Born on March 7, 1957, in Dayton, Kentucky, Donna touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, unconditional love, and infectious laughter.

Married to her devoted husband, Robert Wood, for 26 wonderful years, Donna exemplified partnership and affection. Their journey began on November 1, 1999, a union that blossomed into a love story cherished by all. Together, they built a beautiful family, which was Donna's proudest accomplishment.

She was a loving mother to Dustin (Correna) Colwell, Aaron (Renee) Wood and Dean (Christina) Wood, who carry forward her spirit and warmth. Donna took immense joy in her role as nana to Christopher, Noah, Ameena, Michael, Luke, Caleb and Lilliana, always doting on each of them with the love only a grandmother could provide. Her beautiful smile and laughter brought joy to family gatherings, and she created countless memories with her loved ones, especially during trips to the beach and family outings.

A woman of many interests, Donna savored life fully. She loved country music and enjoyed golfing, participating in a league alongside her husband. She also had a penchant for the thrill of gambling and often relished her visits to the casino. Donna found joy in all living things, from babies to children, and dogs—especially Boxers, who brought boundless energy and companionship into her life. Donna was also a huge Bengals fan, even when they weren't doing well.

Donna's spirit will remain with her family and friends, including her sister, Sharon (Jerry) Saxon; brothers, Doug Curtis and Tom Curtis; numerous nieces and nephews, with a special thanks to niece Tarin Curtis, who lovingly cared for her for several years; and a host of other family members and friends who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy also extends to those who predeceased her, including her father, Jack Curtis; mother, Ruth Curtis (nee Robinson); son, Dustin Colwell; sister, Connie Jones; brother, Steve Curtis; and sister, Gayle Reed. Each of these family members will hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her visitation will be held on November 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky in Erlanger, Kentucky. Immediately following will be a graveside service at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.

As we reflect on Donna's life, we celebrate a woman who lived with openness, joy, and an unconditional love that knew no bounds. Her memory will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories shared by her family, and the warmth of her many friendships. Donna Jean Wood will be deeply missed, but she will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Dementia Society of America.
