Donald Lee Maddox, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and lifelong resident of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. He was born in Florence on April 8, 1942, and his journey in this world was marked by dedication, kindness, and unwavering positivity.

Throughout his life, Donald Lee Maddox was known for his tireless work ethic and steadfast commitment to those he loved. He was the proud owner of Maddox Lawn Care, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and devotion to his community. Through countless seasons, his hard work and reliable presence became woven into the fabric of Florence, endearing him to neighbors and clients alike.

Donald possessed a true appreciation for the past and enjoyed collecting and admiring antiques. His interest in these treasures reflected his respect for history and his keen eye for craftsmanship. Friends and family recall warm conversations spent sharing stories and laughter over pieces from bygone eras.

Those who knew Donald remember him not just for what he did, but for how he lived. He liked a good joke and maintained a positive outlook, no matter the circumstance. He never complained, facing life’s challenges with grace and humility. His days were governed by a prompt schedule and a sense of purpose—qualities that inspired those around him.

Among his many accomplishments, Donald’s family remained his greatest source of pride. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ena Faye Maddox, and his son, Donald Maddox, Jr., who both carry forward his legacy of love, determination, and kindness. Donald also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Rachel and Hannah, and great-grandchildren, Holden and Kai, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He was also survived by numerous life long friends including Gordon Fullerton.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Grant Maddox; his mother, Archmarie Maddox; and his brothers, Robert Maddox and Bill Maddox. Their memories were dear to him, and now they are reunited in lasting peace.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Donald Lee Maddox are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on July 29, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m., held at the same location. All are welcome to gather in remembrance and gratitude for a life well lived.

Donald Lee Maddox’s legacy endures through the family he cherished and the warmth and integrity with which he greeted each new day. He will be missed dearly and remembered always for his positive spirit, hard work, and loving heart.
