Diane Burnett

Diane Burnett, age 69, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 23, 1957 to Robert and Carolyn Martini (nee Reisz).

Diane was preceded in death by her parents.

Diane grew up in Cheviot, was baptized in St Martin Church and graduated St Martin School in 1971. She attended and graduated in 1975 from Western Hills High School. She married her beloved Kevin in 1978 in St. Martin Church. After her children were born, the family moved to a home in Green Township. They became members of Our Lady of Visitation Church, where Diane was active in the Ladies Sodality. She loved being the mom who did most all of the car pools in her "woody" wagon.

Her first full-time job was with recently retired NFL player, Jeffrey Anderson, who operated a land development company. His company did site locations for Wendy's, Long John Silvers and ChiChi's.  Jeffrey Anderson and his two sons eventually developed the Rookwood Center and the Crestview Hills Mall.

In 1982, Diane and Kevin started a home furnishings business, operating out of their home. In 1997, the opened a store front in Cheviot, across from Cheviot City Hall and Fire Department. Diane worked with numerous decorators and was asked to stage furniture for the Best of the West Home Show. Her first year she staged one house. In her second year, she had to turn down requests. A neighbor asked her to help decorate at the Aronoff Center for the Smart Talk Celebrities Series. This event included Goldie Hawn, Joy Behar, Patti LaBell, Maya Angelou, Brooke Shields, Woopie Goldburg, Lisa Lang, Susie Orman, Star Jones, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno.

Diane enjoyed being with family and friends, cooking and baking, a clean house, decorating for every holiday, chocolate malts from UDF and Putz's, turtle pecan blizzards from DQ, shopping, and especially finding bargins and sale items, in McAlpins, Macy's, TJ Maxx, Chico's, Talbots and the outlets.  She had regular shopping buddies...Linda, Ann and Suzie. She shopped with her daughter and grandchildren. There was a family joke, that if the sales people did not see Diane almost everyday, they would mail a Get Well card!

Her favorite gift for Mother's Day and her birthday was for a shopping center trip or trip to the outlet mall. Kevin would often take her to shopping centers or the outlets, where she would shop all days long. Kevin would bring paperwork to keep him busy while waiting in the car.

Diane loved all kinds of cuisine. Some of her favorites included Nick and Tom's, Wild Mike's, Steak & Shake, Skyline, Price Hill Chili, J&J's, Ron's Roost, Stone's, McDonald's, Cancun, LaRosa's and the steak hoagie from NYPD Pizza.

Diane was about all about family, faith, fun, shopping and enjoying life. Her smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed. 

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin, of 48 years, her children, Jennifer (Kevin) Dreyer, and Kyle (Erin Gallagher) Burnett, her grandchildren, Clare and Olivia, her siblings Billy (Rose) Martini, Sandy (Jeff) Green, Debbie (Mike) Mefford and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati (45211) on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Please join the Burnett Family on Thursday, August 20, 2026 for the funeral mass, at 10:30 AM, at St Martin of Tours Church, Cheviot.
