Dennis Ross Shattuck, a man of distinction and dedication, was born on December 3, 1941, in Mount Clemons, Michigan. He departed this life on December 3, 2025, in Burlington, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love, determination, and craftsmanship.
Throughout his life, Dennis exemplified a personality characterized by his attention to detail and unwavering determination. As a stoic perfectionist, he faced challenges head-on, often marked by an admirable resolve to see things through. Though he often wrestled with procrastination, his passions were an integral part of who he was.
Dennis was a versatile individual, with hobbies that showcased his creativity and skills. An avid woodworker, he spent countless hours building birdhouses, each a testament to his craftsmanship. In his youth, Dennis found joy in restoring British Racing cars, a pastime that ignited his love for engineering and mechanics. His adventurous spirit also led him to become an avid motorcyclist, reveling in the freedom and thrill that riding brought. In later years, he embraced the mandolin, immersing himself in music and learning to play with a passion that mirrored the rest of his life pursuits. He was very proud that he was able to go and speak to people about his God Jehovah.
Professionally, one of Dennis's proudest accomplishments was obtaining a patent for an environmental science company he contributed to, specifically in the area of ground water filtration. This achievement reflected not only his intellect but also his commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Dennis's final moments were spent enveloped in love at home, surrounded by his cherished family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Judith Shattuck (nee Smith), whose companionship and support were central to his life. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Lorraine White; his sons, Sean (Karin) Shattuck and Matt (Laura) Shattuck; his grandchildren, Megan White, Zach (Hope) White, and Madi (Aaron) Pool; as well as his great-grandchildren, Henry White, Seamus White, and Jesse White. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Shattuck, and his sister, Sheryll (Steve) Lasseter. Among those grieving his loss are a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Katherine Shattuck (nee Brown); his father, Eldon Ross Shattuck; and his brother, Willard Duane Shattuck.
A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7106 Hopeful Church Road, Florence, KY 41042 Saturday, December 13th. Visitation from 11-1 and service starting at 1 pm.
Dennis Ross Shattuck will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a passionate craftsman whose legacy will live on through the countless lives he influenced. His dedication to his family, his work, and his hobbies were a reflection of the deeply fulfilling life he led. May he rest in peace.
