David Leroy Sullivan, a devoted family man and skilled home builder, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. Born on September 5, 1950, in Covington, Kentucky, David lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a strong sense of independence.

David graduated from Lloyd High School and began his career in the home building industry. He worked with Fischer Builders before establishing his own business, SE New Homes. Known as a self-made man, David was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a man of firm principles, often saying it was "his way or the highway." His talents were many, especially when it came to fixing or building anything, and he was always busy working on projects that mattered to him.

In his twenties, David owned Owls Market, a store that served the community, and also took an active role in local governance by serving on the Elsmere city council. Beyond his professional life, David had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter who passed down his passion for hunting to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and, in his younger years, played softball. Simple pleasures brought him joy, including snacking on Little Debbie cakes, little chocolate donuts, and hard candies. One of his favorite pastimes was mowing his grass in Walton, a task he loved to do himself.

David is survived by his loving family, who cherished him deeply. His daughters, Michelle Christine (Tim) Eickhoff and Dustie Lynn (James Reeves) Sullivan-Reeves, and son, David Wayne Sullivan, carry on his legacy. He was a proud brother to Sandy (Bill) Knauff, Sherry (the late Gary Harmon) Williams, and Kenny Kincaid. David also leaves behind many grandchildren: Hunter Eickhoff, Logan Eickhoff, Colin Eickhoff, Jesse Iles, Dylan Iles, Ciarra Iles, Caylynn Sullivan, David Lee Sullivan, and Allison Sullivan, as well as great-grandchildren Raelynn and Ash. The family was supported with great care by Jessica Hitchcock, Alexis Coleman, and Lacey Ball. David’s extended family includes nieces, nephews, and many friends who will remember him fondly.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Kincaid (nee Rayborn), and brothers Larry Sullivan and Ronnie Sullivan. His strength, work ethic, and love for his family continue to inspire those who knew him.

David Leroy Sullivan will be remembered as a man who lived life on his own terms, always ready to work hard and help others. His legacy will live on through the family and community he touched throughout his life.
