David Lykins

David L. Lykins, age 73, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on September 5, 2026. Born on the same date in 1953 to Burl and Blanche Lykins (née Barr), David made his life in the city where he was born.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother Rex, David leaves behind a loving family: his cherished wife of 46 years, Janet (née Schmidt), and sons Ben (Pam), Brian (Tiffany), Luke (Kelsey), and Jake. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Logan, Emma, Hayden, and Lainey. He is also survived by his brothers Stanley (Kathy) and Arthur (Leilani), as well as many sisters- and brothers-in-law, including Carol (Steve) Sweeney, Fred (Pat) Schmidt, Jim Schmidt, Cathy Schmidt, Barb (Joe) Zeiser, Elaine Kroger, and Joanne Schmidt, alongside a large extended family and friends.

For 48 years, David was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness. Known for his skills as a carpenter, he contributed to building numerous Kingdom Halls and enjoyed the outdoors, especially during winter. His humor and caring nature left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:30 am, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, Cincinnati, Ohio.
